Over the course of almost 40 years, Lou has developed a reputation among a wide range of clients for his diverse skills and keen judgment in handling complex problems and litigations, as well as his dedication and loyalty.
A founding member of the firm, Lou has represented clients at the trial and appellate levels in the state and federal courts of New York as well as in eight of the U.S. Court of Appeals on a broad range of legal problems and issues. His practice focuses on:

Municipalities, foreign and domestic insurers, corporations and professionals turn to Lou for assistance and counseling in connection with internal investigations and matters of national scope. These have included mass torts involving asbestos, breast implants, environmental issues, diet-drug claims, as well as financial matters including the savings and loan crisis and insurance issues arising from 9/11.

After a short time in private practice, during which he was appointed Associate Counsel for the New York State Commission on Legislative and Judicial Salaries, Lou was appointed Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York where he went on to serve as the Deputy Chief Appellate Attorney of its Civil Division. He subsequently served as Director of the Office of Special Projects for the Office of the Inspector General at the General Services Administration, in Washington, D.C.
